Bosco Empresarios 2011
The Commerce students of Don Bosco School Park Circus, Kolkata organized “Bosco
Empresarios or Bosco Business Meet (BBM)” 2011, 4-5 November. It is for the first time that
such a business meet has been organized in the school.
Rector & Principal Fr. Siby Vadakel lauded the event as a prominent example
of the manner in which a sense of purpose has to define the numerous co-curricular events
crowding the academic year. The Vice-principal Fr V.T. Jose, the main coordinator of the event,
encouraged the students stating the purpose of the meet was “to think, reflect and express”
themselves to develop a new concept thus raising the bench mark in inter school events in the
The participating teams from eight city schools included: Modern High School, St
James School, Don Bosco Liluah, St Xavier’s Collegiate School, Frank Anthony Public School,
Calcutta Girl’s High School, M.P. Birla School and the host school Don Bosco Park Circus. The
items in the two day events were: Debate on “Recession: a trend or a cycle,” Case Studies,
Marketing Strategy, Simulated Board Room Meeting, Quiz, and Fund Investor. The debate
in particular saw some extremely animated encounters from motivated students who might well
be the next big names in the world of business. M.P. Birla and Don Bosco School won the

This business meet is a step forward towards the goal of adding a sense of direction
to the numerous inter-school events in the city, a conscious decision taken way back in the
academic year 2007-08. We hope to chart higher goals.
