3rd Savio Football Tournament 2011

The 3rd Savio Football Tournament was held at Don Bosco Park Circus from the 15th to
the 19th October 2011. The number of teams participating in this exciting tournament
comprised eight city schools. The tournament was held on a “Knock Out” format thus
necessitating that the participating teams give everything they have to each and every
match that they play. The final was played between St. Xavier’s Collegiate School and
La Martiniere for Boys. The exciting match was cheered by the school crowd at Don
Bosco Park Circus where the team to be greeted with the enviable wreath of victory was
La Martiniere for Boys. The Chief Guest for the Tournament was Mr. Kalyan Choubey,
the CEO Mohan Bagan whose cheerful presence added to the spirit of the event. Father
Siby, Rector, Don Bosco Park Circus, kindly agreed to be present on this solemn yet
joyful occasion and encourage the students with his kind words.

37th Bosco Challenge Shield 2011
The 37th Bosco Challenge was held from the 22nd of Oct to the 25th Oct of 2011 in
which twelve teams did sweat it out on the basketball court. The League was divided
into four groups for the twelve participating teams. The final was an exciting one as the
Grace Ling Lang School recovered from some initially anxious moments to convincingly
beat the host school; the latter’s fighting spirit not being good enough. It was the Chief
Guest Mr. Raju (The Eastern Railway Coach) who honoured the winning team for their
spell bounding performance. Rev. Father Rector, Don Bosco Park Circus and the Vice
Principal of Grace Ling Lang also graced the occasion with their kind and encouraging
presence. While the Principal Rector highlighted the importance of the values of a
healthy competitive spirit and exercise in such events, he also reminded that the Bosco
Challenge Shield is perhaps the oldest basketball Tournament in the city, thus making
all the Bosconians immensely proud.
